These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Hikayat Scribe, a service provided by Hikayat AI Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17401822 (“Hikayat”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Hikayat Scribe you agree to these Terms.
By accessing or using Hikayat Scribe you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Hikayat Scribe lets a clinician record or dictate a consultation in Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Persian, Arabic, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali or English. The app transcribes the audio to text and uses that text to generate a structured draft clinical note (e.g. differentials, investigations, medications, plan).
Hikayat Scribe is decision-support only. It is not a medical device and is not diagnostic. Every generated note is an AI-produced draft that must be reviewed, edited and approved by the treating clinician before use. It may contain errors or omissions. The treating clinician is solely responsible for all clinical decisions, and for the accuracy and appropriateness of any note used in a patient’s record.
Hikayat Scribe is intended for use by licensed healthcare professionals, or individuals acting under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional in a clinical context. You must be able to form a binding contract to use the service.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

You are solely responsible for obtaining your patient’s consent before recording a consultation (the app requires you to confirm this before recording starts), for reviewing and correcting every AI-generated transcript and note before relying on it, and for all clinical decisions made in the course of your practice. Hikayat Scribe assists documentation; it does not replace clinical judgment.
As between you and Hikayat: you (or your clinic) own the clinical content you create through the service, including your transcripts and the notes generated from them. Hikayat and its licensors own the Hikayat Scribe software, platform, branding and underlying technology. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our software or trademarks to you.
Hikayat Scribe offers a free introductory trial period, after which continued use of paid features requires an active subscription. Pricing and plan details are shown in the app. Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before any pricing change takes effect for your account. [UPDATE ONCE STRIPE IS LIVE: confirm payment processor name]
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, or if required by law. On termination, your right to use the service ends; data is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and the retention periods described there. On request, made within 30 days of termination, we will provide you with a copy of your account’s consultation transcripts and notes in a portable format.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hikayat disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. As set out in Section 2, Hikayat Scribe is decision-support only and not a substitute for clinical judgment; we are not liable for clinical decisions made using AI-generated content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hikayat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hikayat’s total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service - whether arising from a single claim or a series of related or unrelated claims or incidents - shall not exceed the lesser of (a) $500 USD, or (b) the total fees paid by you to Hikayat in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
You agree to indemnify and hold Hikayat harmless from any claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your failure to obtain proper patient consent for a recording.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute arising from them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do; continuing to use the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
